University of Wisconsin - Madison
History of Science
The UW-Madison Program in History of Science, Medicine, and Technology is one of the largest, broadest, and most prestigious academic programs of its kind in the United States, offering an undergraduate major as well as M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. The program is housed in the Department of the History of Science and staffed by faculty from that department and the Department of Medical History and Bioethics. The program's origins reach back to 1941, and it was the first such program to exist as an independent academic department. We are proud to carry that tradition into the 21st century.
